CAPT . ROBERT'S WIDOW DEAD

The death of Mrs. Lou Conway Roberts, widow of the late lamented Captain Dan W . Roberts at her home in Austin last July 14th, brought sadness to many old timers, both in Texas and New Mexico, where she was well known. Captain and Mrs. Roberts moved to Lincoln county, New Mexico in 1854, and he was sheriff of Lincoln county when it comprised all of Southeastern New Mexico . They lived in New Mexico for forty years before moving to Austin in 1924, where Captain Roberts died in 1937 at the age of 94 . Mrs. Roberts was 92 when she passed away.

She was buried in the State cemetery at Austin by the side of her husband. Several neices survive, among them Mrs. J. F. Hinkle of Roswell, New Mexico.

Mrs. Roberts was the author of a book entitled "A Woman's Reminicences of Six Years in Camp With Texas Rangers."
